Role Overview

Shira MedTech designs and manufactures precision microsurgical instruments used in advanced reconstructive surgery. We are looking for a detail-oriented, disciplined QC Technician to inspect every batch of instruments, identify defects, ensure consistent quality, and coordinate with production/vendors.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Gandhinagar for a Quality Control Technician. The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for inspecting and testing medical devices, operating laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and maintaining accurate documentation. The role involves conducting quality assurance processes, evaluating products and raw materials, and identifying areas for improvement to ensure product reliability and safety.

This role is critical to ensuring surgeons receive instruments that are safe, reliable, and high-performing. You do not need prior experience in surgical tools, only strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

1. Instrument Inspection & Testing:

• Perform visual inspection of each instrument under magnification.

• Check tip alignment, finishing, springs, serrations, smoothness, grip stability.

• Compare every batch against gold-standard reference samples.

• Identify, classify, and document defects (cosmetic, functional, critical).

• Perform functional tests using QC jigs (training provided).

2. Batch Quality Control

• Inspect and record QC results for all incoming lots.

• Approve or reject batches as per SOP.

• Segregate rejected instruments and maintain traceability.

• Update QC logs and maintain complete documentation.

3. Vendor Coordination

• Share defect reports with vendors.

• Follow up on rework and replacements.

• Track defect patterns and inform the QC Manager/Operations Head.

4. Production Monitoring

• Check random samples during production.

• Ensure vendors are following specifications.

• Support improvements in machining, finishing, polishing, and assembly.

5. Packaging & Dispatch QC

• Ensure correct labels, packaging quality, sterilization indicators, etc.

• Inspect final products before dispatch.

1. Essential

• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to follow step-by-step SOPs
• Patience and consistency
• Basic understanding of measurements
• Good eyesight and hand steadiness
• Basic English/Hindi/Gujarati reading ability
• Comfortable with repetitive tasks
• Reliable and disciplined work style

2. Good to Have (but not required)

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Production / QA
• Experience in precision tool inspection
• Experience in QC in machining or manufacturing
• Knowledge of Vernier, magnifier, gauges

Training will be provided for all technical tasks.
