Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Quality Control (QC) Head to oversee all quality operations across the solar module manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will lead the QC team and ensure that every module leaving the factory meets international performance, safety, and reliability standards. The QC Head will be responsible for in-line quality checks, lab testing, quality audits, and compliance with IEC and BIS standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Control Operations

● Define, implement, and monitor QC procedures for incoming materials, in-process checks, and finished product inspection.

● Ensure compliance with IEC, MNRE, BIS, and customer-specific quality requirements.

● Monitor EL, IV, Hi-Pot, insulation resistance, and sun simulator testing parameters.

2. In-Process Quality

● Lead quality control across all production stages: cell stringing, lamination, framing, junction box fixing, testing, and packing.

● Identify and reduce defects (cell cracks, micro-cracks, delamination, bubble issues, etc.).

● Collaborate with production for real-time issue resolution and process improvement.

3. Final Inspection & Testing

● Ensure all modules undergo stringent final quality checks (Flash testing, EL, Visual, and Hi-Pot).

● Review data and trends for repeat issues and initiate CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).

4. Quality Documentation & Compliance

● Maintain detailed records of inspections, audits, NCRs, and corrective actions.

● Support internal and external audits for ISO 9001, BIS certification, and customer audits.

● Prepare and update quality manuals, SOPs, and work instructions.

5. Lab Management

● Oversee the operation and calibration of lab equipment (Sun Simulator, EL Tester, IR Tester, etc.)

● Manage periodic testing of modules for reliability (TC, DH, PID, etc. if applicable).

6. Team Leadership

● Lead and mentor the QC team (Inspectors, Engineers, and Technicians).

● Conduct quality training programs to upskill team and shop floor operators.

Technical Skills Required:

● Knowledge of solar module defects and quality parameters

● Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, and BIS certification requirements

● Understanding of AQL, 7 QC tools, CAPA, and root cause analysis

● Working knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab)

Desired Candidate Profile:

● Minimum 3 years of experience in Solar Module Manufacturing (MONO PERC preferred)

● Exposure to fully automated production lines and testing equipment

● Strong communication, analytical, and team-handling skills

● Should be quality-conscious with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
