Job Summary

The QC Manager will lead and manage the Quality Control operations for oleoresins, spice extracts, essential oils, and natural flavoring ingredients. The role ensures that all raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products meet statutory, customer, and internal quality standards. The QC Manager will oversee analytical laboratories, troubleshoot quality deviations, implement quality systems, and work closely with production and R&D teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Laboratory & Quality Testing

· Manage day-to-day operations of the QC laboratory.

• Review and approve COAs, specifications, and batch release documents.
• Ensure accurate testing of oleoresins using GC, GC-MS, HPLC, UV-Vis, Karl Fischer, refractometer, and other instruments.
• Oversee sensory evaluation and organoleptic profiling.
• Monitor quality of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished batches.

2. Compliance & Standards

· Ensure compliance with FSSAI, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, USFDA, and other regulatory standards.

• Maintain documentation for audits (internal/external, customer audits).
• Lead efforts toward continuous quality improvement and certification renewals.

3. Quality Systems & Documentation

• Prepare and maintain SOPs, specifications, stability records, and quality manuals.
• Investigate deviations, OOS (Out-of-Specification) results, and implement CAPA.
• Maintain retention samples and proper documentation for traceability.

4. Team Management

• Lead and train QC chemists, analysts, and lab technicians.
• Conduct skill development and ensure adherence to good laboratory practices (GLP).
• Allocate resources and manage manpower according to production schedules.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work with Production to resolve process variations and improve yields.
• Collaborate with R&D for new product development, shelf-life studies, and method validation.
• Communicate with QA for complaint investigation and customer specification alignment.

6. Safety, Hygiene & Infrastructure

• Ensure safe laboratory practices, chemical handling, and instrument maintenance.
• Plan for calibration, AMC, and instrument upgrades as required.
• Maintain clean, compliant, audit-ready laboratory infrastructure.

Required Qualifications & Skills

1. Education

· M.Sc / B.Tech in Chemistry, Food Technology, Biochemistry, or related field.

2. Experience

· 5–10 years experience in QC for oleoresins, essential oils, spice extracts, flavors, or herbal extracts.

· Strong experience in handling GC/GC-MS/HPLC and analytical method development.

3. Skills

· Strong understanding of spice chemistry, volatiles, non-volatiles, saponins, resins, and essential oils.

· Knowledge of regulatory and food safety standards.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and documentation skills.

· Problem-solving ability in quality troubleshooting and customer complaint resolution.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
