Job Description

Job Title : QC Engineer – Transformer Radiator Division Department : Quality Control / Transformer Manufacturing Location : Vadodara Reports To : Quality Manager / Production Manager Job Summary The QC Engineer for the Transformer Radiator Division is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the quality of radiator components used in power and distribution transformers. This includes inspection of raw materials, in-process manufacturing stages, and final product testing to meet internal and customer specifications, as well as applicable standards (such as IEC, ISO, or BIS). Key Responsibilities Quality Inspection: Conduct incoming inspection of raw materials (e.g., steel sheets, tubes, welding consumables). Inspect and verify in-process operations such as welding, brazing, painting, and fin forming. Perform final inspection and testing of radiators, including pressure and leakage tests. Maintain traceability and documentation for each inspection stage. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain QC checklists, inspection reports, and NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports). Ensure calibration of measurement instruments and maintain calibration records. Support internal and external audits (ISO 9001, customer audits, etc.). Process Improvement: Work with production and design teams to identify root causes of quality issues. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Recommend process modifications for quality enhancement. Standards Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards and specifications (e.g., IS 3024, IEC standards). Monitor compliance with safety and environmental regulations during inspections. Customer Interaction: Coordinate with customers or third-party inspectors during stage inspections and final clearance. Address customer complaints related to radiator quality. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 2–5 years of experience in transformer or radiator manufacturing (preferably in a QC/QA role). Knowledge of welding processes, hydrostatic testing, and sheet metal fabrication.
