QA Automation Engineer

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts for web, mobile (iOS/Android), and API-based applications.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and product teams to understand requirements and translate them into robust test cases.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, performance, and exploratory tests.
• Identify, document, and track software defects, inconsistencies, and provide root cause analysis.
• Build and maintain scalable test frameworks and reusable automation utilities.
• Participate in code reviews, requirement reviews, and design discussions.
• Ensure test environments are properly configured, leveraging Docker/Kubernetes where needed.
• Work closely with DevOps teams to integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, CircleCI).
• Provide detailed test reports, including test coverage, defect metrics, and quality insights.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to automation best practices across the team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of QA automation experience with proven expertise in at least one automation tool such as Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright. and along with hands-on experience in Appium for mobile automation
• Proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript, or relevant scripting languages.
• Experience with API testing tools like Postman, RestAssured
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, CircleCI).
• Strong knowledge of TestNG, JUnit, or similar frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with version control systems like Git.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and shift-left testing practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
• Ability to take ownership, adapt quickly, and contribute in a collaborative environment.

Good to Have

• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, k6).
• Knowledge of cloud-based testing environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Exposure to containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) for test environment setup.
• Familiarity with BDD frameworks (Cucumber).
