Your Role And Responsibilities As a Python Cloud Development Engineer, you will: Design, develop, and test Power Private Cloud software components, focusing on OpenStack telemetry services such as Ceilometer and Gnocchi, event handling, metering, and stream processing using Kafka and Redis. Translate architectural requirements into high-level and low-level technical designs. Actively contribute to open source projects and collaborate with the OpenStack and wider cloud communities. Develop software within the Cloud domain, with experience in OpenStack, virtualization technologies, Linux OS internals, networking, storage, security, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS). Understand cloud-based virtualization platforms including OpenStack as well as public clouds like GCP and Azure. Demonstrate strong full-stack cloud development skills, with a hands-on approach to both backend and interface components. Experience in open source contributions and working knowledge of open source tools are highly valued. Preferred Education Master's Degree Required Technical And Professional Expertise 4+ years of experience as a developer enabling features on private/public cloud platforms, with a strong focus on Cloud Computing and IaaS. Hands-on experience with OpenStack, including Telemetry (Ceilometer), metrics components, and core OpenStack services. Strong background in virtualization and Linux (Unix) environments. Proficient in Python programming, including web frameworks, unit testing, and scripting. Experience in web application development and microservice architecture. Familiarity with databases such as MariaDB and message queue technologies like RabbitMQ. Version control expertise using Git. Exposure to Ansible for automation [Nice to have]. Proven ability to design, develop, and implement complex cloud solutions, with experience in customer-facing roles under fast-paced conditions. Active participation in open source communities is a plus. Preferred Technical And Professional Experience Hands-on experience with OpenStack clouds, virtualization basics, and strong Python programming skills, including automation with Ansible. Solid understanding of object-oriented design and modern software design patterns. Experience working in agile, scrum, and DevOps environments. Clear knowledge of cloud service and deployment models. Comfortable collaborating with distributed teams and engaging with open source communities. Self-motivated learner with the ability to quickly apply new technologies and frameworks. Commercial experience with OpenStack, virtualization, and public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Strong communication skills to facilitate technical discussions internally and externally.
