Python Big Data Engineer

Job Title: Python Big Data Developer (BFSI Domain)

Experience Level: 6+ years (Medium Level)

Location: Chennai/Pune

Mode: Onsite/Hybrid

Industry: BFSI / Financial Services

Responsibilities:

• Utilize strong knowledge of application development procedures and concepts, with exposure to other technical areas, to define and implement necessary system enhancements.
• Develop, script, and analyze code to support business-critical applications.
• Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues and recommend programming solutions.
• Install and support customer-facing systems.
• Apply programming expertise to translate design specifications into robust applications.
• Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities, ensure security compliance, and perform debugging and testing.
• Act as a mentor/coach to junior analysts and team members.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, providing subject matter expertise (SME) support.
• Resolve issues by applying technical experience, precedents, and evaluative judgment.
• Operate with limited supervision, demonstrating independence in judgment and execution.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies while applying sound ethical judgment and risk management

Qualifications & Technical Skills:

• Minimum 4+ years of programming experience on Big Data platforms using:
• Python with Hive Storage formats, HDFS, Spark, Kafka
• RDBMS (core concepts and daily development usage)
• Strong experience in multithreading and multiprocessing using Java/Scala/Python.
• 2+ years’ experience in DevOps processes and tools:
• Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, SonarQube, CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with versioning systems: GitHub, Bitbucket, Subversion, Perforce, etc.
• Experience in the Financial Services industry (BFSI) or equivalent domain.
• Strong understanding and implementation experience of SDLC processes:
• Agile ceremonies, sprints, Jira, Confluence.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements or deadlines.

Good to Have:

• Exposure to advanced Big Data tools and frameworks.
• Prior experience in handling large-scale BFSI datasets and compliance-driven applications.

• Level: Medium (6+ years of qualified skills experience).
• Domain Preference: BFSI (Banking/Financial Services/Insurance).
