Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Purchase Head to lead the procurement operations for composite Government building projects involving Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing (CEMP) works. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, vendor management, cost control, and ensuring timely and quality procurement aligned with project timelines and budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Execute Procurement Strategy for all material requirements across Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing domains.
  • Vendor Identification & Evaluation: Build and maintain a robust vendor network ensuring quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.
  • Cost Estimation & Rate Analysis: Conduct comparative analysis and value engineering to optimize procurement costs.
  • Contract Negotiation: Finalize purchase orders, rate contracts, and annual agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with Planning, Execution, and Engineering teams to forecast material needs and mitigate procurement delays.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor material inflow/outflow, reconcile material consumption, and coordinate with stores for just-in-time delivery.
  • Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure procurement aligns with technical specifications, contract conditions, and company quality standards.
  • ERP System Management: Oversee procurement documentation, order tracking, and approvals via ERP platforms (SAP/Tally/Oracle, etc.).
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of procurement officers, ensure performance tracking, and enforce procurement best practices.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of CEMP materials and vendor markets
  • Excellent negotiation and commercial acumen
  • Familiarity with construction project workflows and technical specifications
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems
  • Analytical and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal and vendor relationship skills
