Job Description

Job Summary:

The Procurement Executive – Civil Construction is responsible for the efficient sourcing and procurement of civil construction materials, equipment, and services. This role ensures that all materials required for site execution—such as cement, sand, steel, aggregates, concrete, shuttering materials, etc.—are procured on time, at competitive prices, and in line with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Procurement for Civil Works:
  • Source, negotiate, and purchase materials like cement, steel, aggregates, bricks, RMC, shuttering plywood, construction chemicals, etc.
  • Ensure timely delivery to sites as per the work schedule and project requirements.
  • Vendor Development:
  • Identify and qualify new vendors/suppliers for civil construction materials and services (e.g., formwork, scaffolding, equipment rentals).
  • Maintain an approved vendor list and evaluate vendor performance periodically.
  • Purchase Order & Documentation:
  • Raise purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders.
  • Ensure all procurement records, invoices, and delivery notes are properly maintained.
  • Coordination with Site Teams:
  • Work closely with project engineers, planning teams, and storekeepers to understand real-time material requirements.
  • Track stock levels and avoid material shortages or excess.
  • Cost Control & Negotiation:
  • Obtain competitive quotations and analyse them based on cost, quality, delivery terms, and supplier credibility.
  • Support in achieving project cost-saving targets without compromising quality.
  • Logistics and Site Delivery:
  • Coordinate material transport, unloading, and inspection at site.
  • Resolve delivery issues or quality non-conformance reports.
  • Reporting:
  • Maintain daily and weekly procurement reports for management review.
  • Monitor budget utilization and highlight procurement cost deviations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 5 years of experience in procurement for civil construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of civil materials and market trends.
  • Familiar with construction site operations and project timelines.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and ERP software.
  • Knowledge of contract terms and vendor evaluation methods.
  • Familiarity with government or private tender procurement (if applicable).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From ₹35,000.00 per month
