Job Description

Experience :
He should have at least 10 years of experience as a purchasing agent or buyer before advancing to a management role. He should be able to develop, lead & execute purchasing strategies, policies & procedures to optimize the procurement process and Identify, evaluate, select, & onboard reliable suppliers/vendors. This includes building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships & monitoring their performance based on quality, reliability & cost-effectiveness. Shall be well versed for the end-to-end procurement of goods & services, ensuring that all acquisitions meet quality standards, are cost-effective, & are delivered on time. Further exposure to the following is also strongly preferred :
Strategy & Policy :
Develop, lead & execute purchasing strategies, policies and procedures to optimize the procurement process.
Negotiation and Contracts :
Craft negotiation strategies and negotiate contracts and payment terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms.
Cost Control and Analysis :
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses, perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmark prices to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Inventory and Logistics :
Collaborate with internal departments (finance, operations, sales) to forecast demand, monitor inventory levels and manage inventory to avoid shortages or excesses.
Compliance and Risk Management :
Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and relevant local and national regulations. Assess and mitigate supply chain risks.
Team Leadership :
Oversee the purchasing department, which may involve training and managing junior buyers and purchasing agents.
Education :
A Master's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Material Management, Inventory Control, Purchase Management, Finance, or a related discipline. Incumbents having the Qualifications of B. Pharma & or M. Pharma shall also be preferred. Computer literacy is preferred additionally.
