Job Description

A Junior Purchase Executive is responsible for assisting the purchase department in sourcing materials, negotiating with vendors, maintaining purchase records, and ensuring timely procurement of goods required for smooth operations. The role supports senior purchase staff and helps streamline the procurement process.   Key Responsibilities   1. Procurement & Vendor Coordination * Assist in sourcing suppliers for raw materials, machinery parts, consumables, and other required items. * Obtain quotations, compare prices, and prepare cost analysis. * Coordinate with existing vendors for timely deliveries. * Follow up on pending orders and resolve delivery-related issues.   2. Documentation & Record Keeping   * Prepare purchase orders (PO) and ensure timely approvals. * Maintain accurate records of invoices, purchase orders, delivery challans, and vendor data. * Update purchase registers and ERP systems regularly.   3. Inventory & Material Management   * Coordinate with the store department regarding material requirements. * Monitor stock levels and support in maintaining optimum inventory. * Assist in verifying received materials as per PO specifications.   4. Negotiation & Cost Control   * Support in price negotiation with suppliers. * Work on reducing procurement costs without compromising quality. * Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers.   5. Coordination with Internal Departments   * Collaborate with accounts for invoice clearance and payment follow-ups. * Work closely with production, quality, and store teams to understand material needs.     Required Skills   * Basic knowledge of purchasing procedures and supply chain. * Strong communication and vendor management skills. * Good negotiation and follow-up abilities. * Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/SAP (if applicable). * Attention to detail and ability to multitask.     Educational Qualification   * Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.   Experience   * 1–2 years of experience in purchase   Key Attributes   * Positive attitude and willingness to learn. * Time management and organizational skills. * Team player with strong work ethics.
