Project Manager Technical Services -Crusher Plant

Role & responsibilities

Job Purpose

To lead, plan, and execute all technical service activities for the crusher plant, ensuring optimal plant performance, timely project delivery, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The role involves technical troubleshooting, project coordination, plant upgrades, maintenance planning, and process optimisation.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Project Planning & Execution

• Plan, schedule, and execute crusher plant technical projects such as installation, commissioning, upgrades, and modifications.
  
• Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, and internal teams for timely completion of projects.
  
• Monitor project progress, prepare daily/weekly reports, and ensure compliance with timelines and budgets.
  
• Review technical drawings, BOQs, equipment specifications, and project documentation.
  

B. Technical Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide high-level technical guidance to plant operations and maintenance teams.
  
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues in crushers (Jaw, Cone, VSI, HSI), screens, conveyors, and related equipment.
  
• Implement permanent solutions to recurring breakdowns and process bottlenecks.
  
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for failures and take corrective actions.
  

C. Plant Performance Optimization

• Analyse production data to improve plant efficiency, throughput, and product quality.
  
• Identify areas for improvement in crushing circuits, screening efficiency, and material flow.
  
• Recommend and execute process optimisation projects to reduce downtime and operational costs.
  

D. Maintenance Planning & Execution

• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all crusher plant machinery.
  
• Ensure availability of critical spares, tools, and technical resources.
  
• Oversee annual shutdown maintenance and ensure adherence to planned activities.
  
• Review maintenance logs, equipment health reports, and vibration/condition monitoring data.
  

E. Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Ensure that all technical services activities comply with safety standards, statutory regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  
• Conduct safety trainings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
  
• Ensure quality control in maintenance and project activities.
  

F. Team Management & Coordination

• Lead and supervise technical service engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
  
• Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and provide technical mentoring.
  
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, procurement, and management teams for seamless operations.
  

3. Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of crusher plant machinery (Jaw, Cone, VSI, HSI, Screens, Conveyors).
  
• Expertise in project management and execution.
  
• Sound understanding of mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
  
• Knowledge of preventive & predictive maintenance systems.
  
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings, OEM manuals, and project documentation.
  
• MS Office proficiency and experience in maintenance software (CMMS preferred).
  
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  

4. Educational Qualifications

• Diploma / B.Tech / BE Mechanical, Electrical, Mining or related field.
  
• Project Management Certification (preferred).
  

5. Experience

• 7–15 years of experience in crusher plant operations, maintenance, or project execution.
  
• Experience with mineral processing, aggregate plants, or mining equipment is preferred.
