Project Engineer

The Project Engineer position at Vogt Power International (VPI), a business unit of Babcock Power, involves coordinating project engineering activities related to project development, execution, requisition approval, and technical equipment evaluations. As the technical manager of assigned projects, you will be responsible for ensuring engineering schedules, forecasting man-hours, and managing engineering budgets. Communication of technical issues with the Project Manager and Customers, as well as participation in customer visits and project-related activities, are key aspects of this role. Key Responsibilities: - Manage the technical aspects of assigned projects during contract execution. - Act as the primary technical contact for customers, facilitating technical correspondence and addressing change requests. - Maintain project engineering schedules, forecast man-hours, and provide progress reports to upper management. - Oversee the Document Control Automation Program (DCAP) for the project, ensuring proper communication of incoming and outgoing documents. - Develop and coordinate project O&M manuals, maintain meeting minutes, and actively contribute to departmental improvements. - Represent the Engineering Department internally and externally, including participation in design improvements and innovation projects. - Review sales proposals, RFQs, proposal schedules, and technical reports. Job Requirements: - Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical, chemical, or metallurgical Engineering or related field. - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. - Knowledge of company standards, codes (ASME, NBIC, B31.1, etc.), and HRSG or boiler operations. - Minimum five (5) years of related industry experience. - Valid passport and willingness to travel as required. - Resourceful, organized, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
