Job Description

As a Project Cost Controller in Malaysia, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of complex projects. Your responsibilities will include: - Collaborating closely with the Project Manager to oversee the project management process. - Acting as the key partner in implementing the project's financial strategy. - Enhancing the financial aspects of the project, including tax, hedging, and financing. - Providing financial guidance and support to the project team as a business partner. - Establishing technical expertise to address current business needs and create value. - Facilitating integration and functional collaboration within the organization. - Ensuring compliance with financial regulations during project reviews and execution. - Supervising, analyzing, and providing assistance on all financial matters related to the project. - Monitoring the project's financial performance and recommending action plans for improvement. - Enhancing the accuracy and insight of project financial data. - Evaluating and approving project financials in alignment with delegation of authority. - Ensuring compliance with local regulations, particularly tax and statutory accounts. - Collaborating with various finance functions and specialized teams. - Assisting in negotiation efforts to ensure project success with customers or partners. Your key tasks will include: - Collaborating with the project team to prepare project review materials and reassess profitability. - Providing detailed explanations and justifications for estimates. - Engaging in negotiations on price reviews, financial terms, and claims. - Monitoring financial information throughout the project lifecycle for timely risk management. - Ensuring compliance with governance and reporting regulations. - Adhering to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). - Advising on contractual terms to improve competitiveness. - Supporting Claim Management in collaboration with Project and Contract Managers. - Managing and analyzing costs, revenue, and profitability. - Preparing forecasts for sales, costs, margins, and cash flow. - Optimizing liquidity and working capital within the project. - Ensuring prompt execution of billing processes. - Assisting finance teams with monthly closing processes and accurate reporting. - Assessing capital expenditures and R&D impact for tendering purposes. - Reconciling project data with the General Ledger. - Timely issuance and release of project bonds and guarantees. Qualifications required for this role include: - CA/MBA with 8-10+ years of experience in Finance within a project-based industry. - Auditing and/or project operational background would be advantageous. - Strong organizational skills and prioritization abilities. - Excellent team player with leadership skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP. - Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English.
