Professor of Technology (Computer Science Focus)

Job Description

We are seeking a distinguished academic professional to join our faculty as a Professor of Technology with a specialized focus in Computer Science. This tenured or tenure-track position requires an individual who can advance our academic mission through exceptional teaching, groundbreaking research, and meaningful service to the university and broader academic community. Key Responsibilities Teaching & Curriculum Development Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science and related technology disciplines Develop innovative curricula that reflect current industry trends and emerging technologies Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research projects and academic pursuits Supervise doctoral dissertations and thesis committees Integrate practical applications with theoretical foundations in course design Research & Scholarship Conduct original research in computer science with emphasis on emerging technologies Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences Secure external funding through grants and research partnerships Collaborate with industry partners on applied research initiatives Lead interdisciplinary research projects that bridge technology and other domains Service & Leadership Participate in departmental, college, and university committee work Contribute to academic program assessment and accreditation processes Serve as reviewer for academic journals and conference proceedings Engage in professional organizations and editorial boards Provide thought leadership in technology education and policy Required Qualifications Education & Experience Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or closely related field Minimum 8-10 years of combined academic and/or industry experience for senior-level appointment Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching at the university level Established research portfolio with significant publications in reputable venues Technical Expertise Deep knowledge in core computer science areas including algorithms, data structures, software engineering, and systems Specialization in one or more emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science, cloud computing, or human-computer interaction Proficiency in multiple programming languages and development frameworks Understanding of current industry practices and technology trends Academic Credentials Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and conferences Evidence of successful grant writing and research funding acquisition Demonstrated ability to mentor students at undergraduate and graduate levels Experience with curriculum development and pedagogical innovation Preferred Qualifications Industry experience in technology leadership or consulting roles International research collaboration and global perspective Experience with online and hybrid learning modalities Bilingual capabilities for diverse student populations Leadership experience in academic or professional technology organizations Expertise in emerging fields such as quantum computing, blockchain, IoT, or extended reality Show more Show less
