Job Summary

The Production Supervisor will oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure smooth production flow, compliance with medical device quality standards, and timely delivery. The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of medical device manufacturing processes, and the ability to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities Production & Operations

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities.
  • Ensure production targets, deadlines, and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process and setting process variables.
  • Allocate manpower and optimize resource utilization.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to ISO 13485, GMP, and company quality standards.
  • Implement and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and documentation.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and ensure corrective actions for deviations.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure product quality and compliance.

Team Management

  • Supervise production operators, technicians, and line staff.
  • Provide on-job training to new and existing employees.
  • Monitor staff performance, discipline, and adherence to safety protocols.

Equipment & Material Handling

  • Ensure machines/equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Coordinate with maintenance team for preventive & corrective maintenance.
  • Monitor raw materials, consumables, and ensure minimum stock levels.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain production records, batch records, and daily reports.
  • Monitor waste, rejection rates, and improve process efficiency.
  • Assist in audits (internal, external, regulatory).

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and productivity enhancement.
  • Support implementation of Lean, 5S, and Kaizen activities.

Skills & Qualifications Education

  • Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, or related field.

Experience

  • 2–6 years of experience in medical device manufacturing, preferably in:
  • IOLs
  • surgical disposables
  • ophthalmic devices
  • plastic molding / assembly lines

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of clean room procedures.
  • Understanding of ISO 13485, GMP, DHR, DMR, and CAPA processes.
  • Experience with assembly, molding, packaging, or sterilization processes.

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership & team-handling ability.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capability.

Working Conditions

  • Clean room / controlled environment.
  • Shift working may be required depending on production load.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹11,429.71 - ₹34,915.91 per month
