Job Description

A Production Head for CNC/VMC is a leadership role responsible for managing and optimizing production activities in a machining department that uses CNC (Computer Numerical Control) and VMC (Vertical Machining Center) machines to ensure efficient, high-quality output. Key responsibilities include production planning, overseeing daily operations, managing manpower and machinery, implementing quality control, ensuring safety compliance, and driving continuous improvement to meet production targets. The ideal candidate typically has a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field and extensive experience in CNC/VMC operations and leadership. Key Responsibilities

  • Production Planning & Operations:Develop and execute daily production plans, monitor machine operations, and improve overall production processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Manpower Management:Manage, coordinate, and lead the production team, including shift planning and manpower handling, to ensure optimal team performance.
  • Quality Control:Implement and oversee strict quality checks to ensure all finished products meet specifications and standards.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting:Supervise routine maintenance of CNC and VMC machines and address any operational issues or machinery malfunctions promptly.
  • Safety & Compliance:Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and procedures on the shop floor to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Performance Monitoring:Track and document production data, equipment performance, and key performance indicators (like OEE - Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
  • Continuous Improvement:Drive initiatives for Lean manufacturing, Kaizen implementation, and other strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Strategic Decision-Making:Make informed decisions to solve operational challenges and contribute to the overall strategic goals of the manufacturing facility.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education:A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related production management field is often required.
  • Experience:Extensive experience (typically 10-15 years) in a similar role within a CNC/VMC manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Technical Skills:Proficiency in reading technical drawings, understanding CNC programming, operating VMCs, and troubleshooting machine issues is vital.
  • Leadership & Communication:Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills are necessary for leading a team and collaborating with cross-functional departments.
  • Problem-Solving:A strong mechanical aptitude and excellent problem-solving skills to address production challenges effectively

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
