Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Production Engineer to plan, coordinate, and monitor manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production, quality standards, and timely delivery. The candidate will work closely with the production team to optimize processes and reduce downtime.

Job Description

To plan and perform the Welding processes: GMAW, GTAW, SMAW and other technique in heavy fabrication.

Execute daily/weekly/monthly production plans in line with MPS and takt time.

Supervise fabrication, welding, bending, machining, and assembly operations.

Ensure adherence to approved drawings, WIs, QAPs, and customer specifications.

Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, SCM, and Engineering teams.

Shop-floor manpower management and shift operations.

Ensure compliance with drawings, WIs, QAPs, and customer specs

Detail study of drawing/QAP/Applicable standard for NDT Requirement in planning stage.

Define welding processes, CTQs, and special process requirements.

CNC Laser/Plasma Cutting, Press Brake, Bending, Shot Blasting.

Support third-party & Customer inspections during production.

Coordinate prototype manufacturing, trials, and first article approval.

To develop jigs, fixtures and other concept for completing Sub Assembly & Assembly (in-house or outsourced).

Monitor productivity, rejection, rework, and manpower utilization

Monitor & maintain the stock of weld consumable & NDT material.

Maintain safety and quality standards using acceptable housekeeping practices and 5s processes on equipment and work area.

Perform Pre & Post NDT inspection & rectification as per approved procedures and standards.

Co-ordinate & Conduct VT, PT, MT, UT, RT in Parts & Assembly

Able to make NDT report as per prescribed format or as per client requirement.

Understanding Interpretation of NDT results and prepare inspection reports as and when required.

Support third-party inspections and customer audits.

Qualification and Experience

Diploma/B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering/ Welding Technology.

Experience - 6–10+ years of experience in Defence/railways/Heavy engineering manufacturing.

Strong knowledge of GMAW, GTAW, SMAW and other technique in heavy precision fabrication.

Deep Understanding of welding symbols in fabrication, sub. Assembly & Assembly drawings.

Knowledge of Electrode Selection, Preparation of WPS, PQR, WPQ & QAP

Knowledge of acceptance criteria for welded joints for UT & RT clearance

Preferable working in Heavy fabrication of MS/SS Precision Assemblies for Defence and other Engineering Industry.

Preferable NDT Level II (UT/MPT/DPT/RT) With hands on experience on Fabricated/Casted/forged components.
