Job Title: Production Engineer – Fabrication

Department: Production / Fabrication
Reporting To: Production Manager / Plant Head

Job Summary:

The Production Engineer (Fabrication) will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising fabrication activities on the shop floor. The role ensures production targets are achieved with quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery while adhering to safety standards. The engineer will also be involved in process improvement, manpower management, and technical support for fabrication projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute daily fabrication activities as per production schedule.
• Review fabrication drawings and ensure jobs are carried out as per specifications.
• Supervise cutting, welding, bending, machining, and assembly processes.
• Prepare and maintain in-process inspection reports and ensure quality at every stage.
• Coordinate with design, quality, and maintenance departments to resolve production issues.
• Monitor material usage, reduce wastage, and ensure optimum utilization of resources.
• Ensure final inspection and quality checks before dispatch.
• Maintain production records, job cards, and daily progress reports.
• Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and other process improvement techniques.
• Train and guide operators, welders, and helpers for skill development.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Support new product development and prototype fabrication.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes (cutting, welding, bending, grinding, assembly, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication/engineering drawings.
• Hands-on knowledge of in-process and final inspection as per drawings.
• Familiarity with welding standards, materials, and fabrication tolerances.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD / SolidWorks (preferred).

Qualification & Experience:

• Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.
• 3–7 years of experience in fabrication industry (structural, sheet metal, heavy fabrication, or similar).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month

• Day Shift (Preferred)
• Night Shift (Preferred)
