Product Support Engineer - Linux, SQL (Night Shift)

.This role provides an exciting opportunity to support and maintain critical software products for global clients during night hours aligned with Jamaican time zones. As a Product Support Engineer, you will ensure the stability and performance of complex applications, troubleshoot production issues, and assist in the delivery of service improvement initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise, maintain documentation, and optimize client-facing services. The position demands strong technical skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, contributing directly to the quality and reliability of high-impact systems.
Accountabilities
- Provide technical support for production systems and mission-critical applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Windows, UNIX, and Linux environments
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure timely resolution of incidents
- Produce and maintain detailed service documentation, knowledge base articles, and service improvement plans
- Track and manage issues using call tracking and management systems
- Contribute to process improvements and enhance service delivery quality
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in product support, client service management, or IT operations
- Strong communication skills in English and effective interpersonal abilities
- ITIL V3 Foundation certification or equivalent knowledge
- Experience with mission-critical applications and delivering service improvement plans
- Familiarity with technologies such as Linux, Solaris, SQL, Oracle, Java, .NET, and Docker is advantageous
- Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, JavaScript, and relevant frameworks is a plus
- Ability to work night shifts aligned with Jamaican hours (7:30 PM - 4:00 AM)
