Job Purpose

To manage and grow assigned generic pharmaceutical products by developing and executing effective marketing strategies, driving product performance, and supporting sales teams to achieve business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

Product Management & Strategy

  • Manage the full product life cycle of assigned generic brands (launch, growth, maturity).
  • Develop annual and long-term marketing plans aligned with business goals.
  • Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and SWOT analysis.
  • Identify new product opportunities and line extensions in the generic portfolio.

Marketing & Promotion

  • Design and execute promotional strategies for doctors, hospitals, and trade channels.
  • Develop marketing inputs such as visual aids, LBLs, brochures, digital content, and promotional campaigns.
  • Plan and manage product launches and re-launches.
  • Coordinate with agencies for creative and promotional material development.

Sales Support

  • Train and motivate the sales force through product training, cycle meetings, and continuous updates.
  • Prepare product presentations, FAQs, and objection-handling tools for the field force.
  • Work closely with sales teams to track performance and improve market penetration.

Market Research & Analysis

  • Monitor prescription trends, sales data, and market share.
  • Track competitor activities, pricing, and promotional strategies.
  • Collect and analyze field feedback to refine marketing strategies.

Cross-functional Coordination

  • Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs, Medical, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure timely availability of stocks and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Support regulatory documentation and product positioning.

Budget & Performance Management

  • Manage marketing budgets effectively.
  • Track ROI on promotional activities.
  • Monitor product performance and recommend corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Education: B. Pharma / M. Pharma / MBA (Marketing preferred)
  • Experience: 10–12 years in pharmaceutical marketing, preferably in generics
