Product Development Engineer- Seating

As a Product Development Engineer specializing in Seating Systems, you will be responsible for the following key aspects: - Good understanding of system level and component level working in the context of seating systems. - Knowledge of cooling system and component design requirements for seating system commodities such as Seat structure, Mechanism, complete seat, OB/IB valance, Head rest, seat mounting brackets, etc. - Effective communication with customers and suppliers. - Knowledge of material selection for different components. - Ability to create and review parametric models using CATIA V5/DMU. - Working knowledge of PLM systems, specifically Team Centre. - Ability to benchmark and provide innovative approaches to problem-solving. - Interaction with cross-functional teams like CAE/VI Lead teams, interpretation of CAE results, and suggesting corrective actions. - Complete understanding of the product development cycle for typical automotive vehicle programs. - Good understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis. - Strong knowledge of documents DFM/DFA/DFMEA. - Understanding of test & validation processes (DVP). - Understanding of manufacturing processes including Plastic moulding methods, Casting, and sheet metal. - Strong communication skills with the ability to independently interact with customers and suppliers. - Awareness and experience in implementing project processes. - Ensuring system, sub-system, and components meet DVA, Optical, and Perceived Quality targets. Skills Required: - Proven project management capability demonstrated by recent delivery in line with time, cost, quality & attribute targets. - Extensive experience in the right first-time development and integration of seating system commodities. - Detailed Engineering knowledge of design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements. - Ability to manage and challenge system, sub-system, and component costs through the utilization of engineering knowledge and decision-making processes. - Excellent communication skills, with demonstrable ability to communicate with cross-functional teams and influence at all levels. - Proficiency in PC Literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word, etc. - Significant experience in the use of engineering tools such as FMEA, Agile or Scrum (Six Sigma will be an added advantage).,
