Product Development Engineer- Seating

Role Overview: As a Product Development Engineer for Seating Systems, you will be responsible for having a good understanding of system and component level working. Your role will involve knowledge of cooling system and component design requirements for various seating system commodities such as seat structure, mechanism, complete seat, OB/IB valance, headrest, and seat mounting brackets. Effective communication with customers and suppliers, material selection for different components, and the ability to create and review parametric models using CATIA V5/DMU will be crucial aspects of your job. You will also need to work with PLM systems like Teamcenter, provide innovative problem-solving approaches, interact with cross-functional teams, and ensure products meet quality targets. Key Responsibilities: - Understand system and component level working for seating systems - Design various seating system commodities such as seat structure, mechanism, complete seat, etc. - Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers - Select appropriate materials for different components - Create and review parametric models using CATIA V5/DMU - Work with PLM systems like Teamcenter - Provide innovative solutions for problems - Collaborate with cross-functional teams and interpret CAE results - Ensure products meet quality targets and standards - Conduct tolerance stack up analysis and understand GD&T - Knowledge of documents like DFM/DFA/DFMEA - Understand test and validation processes - Familiarity with manufacturing processes like plastic molding, casting, and sheet metal - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Independently interact with customers and suppliers - Implement project processes effectively - Ensure system, sub-system, and components meet quality targets Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field - 8-12 years of experience in product development engineering - Proven project management capability with a track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and meeting quality targets - Extensive experience in the development and integration of seating system commodities - Detailed engineering knowledge of design, function, performance, production, and manufacturing requirements - Ability to manage and optimize costs through engineering knowledge and decision-making process - Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams - Proficiency in Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word - Experience with engineering tools like FMEA, Agile, or Scrum (Six Sigma knowledge is an advantage),
