Job Overview: Electrica Engineers Pvt Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer in Design Department to support the Testing, Certification, and Development of Automotive Lighting Systems . The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Photometry and Colorimetry Testing , as well as a solid understanding of Automotive Lighting Regulatory Standards , including ARAI and ECE . This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that automotive lighting products meet compliance and performance requirements for homologation . Key Responsibilities: Regulatory Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of automotive interior and exterior lighting regulatory requirements, specifically AIS (012, 057) and ECE (R148, R150) standards. Testing Expertise : Independently conduct photometry and colorimetry testing of both exterior and interior automotive lamps to ensure they meet specified standards. Report Generation : Create, evaluate, and validate photometry and colorimetry reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Certification Coordination : Collaborate with ARAI and ECE for certification activities, ensuring timely submission and approval of lighting products. Audits : Prepare for and actively participate in ARAI, ECE , and CCC COP audits for automotive lighting systems. DVP Testing : Provide knowledge and support for DVP testing specific to Automotive Lighting (preferred). Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with internal teams such as R&D, design, and quality to integrate homologation requirements into the product development lifecycle. Desired Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field. Experience: 2 - 4 years of experience in photometry and colorimetry testing, with a focus on headlamps, tail lamps, DRLs, fog lamps, and small lamps. Key Skills: Technical Skills : Photometry and colorimetry testing, Knowledge of ARAI (AIS 012, AIS 057) and ECE (R148, R150) homologation standards and Experience with DVP testing for automotive lighting (preferred) Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to interact effectively with regulatory bodies and internal teams. Regulatory Knowledge : Familiarity with automotive lighting industry standards and part validation processes. Role & responsibilities Knowledge of J1939 and LIN (19.2) based communication protocol Ability to read and interpret a Vehicle Message Matrix document Experience using CAN/LIN traces for troubleshooting Able to simulate and manipulate messages for validation purposes Familiar with basic electrical concepts for wiring Ability to create a component and/or function test plans with appropriate test cases to validate system operation of Mechatronic features in development (DVP). Familiar with J1939 for wiring requirements Proficient on wiring creation, Able to select circuit IDs Able to calculate circuit gauges. Able to understand multiplexed logic Proficient on CHS, meaning that he knows how to perform the following processes: Schematic Generation following DTNA standards in Capital Logic Harness Generation on MOD XC Proficient on Chart and BOM creation Familiar with Deviations Familiar with IDD charting Able to create test cases to validate correct operation of Mechatronic features (DVP&R). Able to engage with different OEMs for wiring requirements Nice to have: Ability to update the global ECU parameters (domains/fragments) using ODX Studio. Ability to convert the supplier provided flash file into DT Ceasar files or SMR files using ODX Studio. Ability to release the ECU parameters, softwares etc., through EDLS Client. Ability to understand the feature needs and accomplish the feature using Flexible Logic Software for global ECUs. Ability to create CHEC parameters using CHEC/CHEC+ CHS Ability to review the DiagnosticLink log files to determine the root cause of the ECU faults and parameter related issues. Knowledge on DiagnosePortal of ECU cdd, cbf etc., Experience with NX Familiar with DTNA and MB standards and specifications.
