- The Lids Engineer is responsible for Closure BIW & Access systems timely deliverables of defined components such as Hood Fender, Tailgate & Latching System.
- Proven project management capability demonstrated by delivery in line with time, cost, quality attribute targets.
- Proven and extensive experience in right first-time DV and PV timeline planning, product quality validation and integration
- Possess detailed engineering knowledge of design, function, performance, production, manufacturing, CAE, optical, vibration , and thermal requirements .
- Ability to manage and challenge supplier day to day activities for smooth completion of DV and PV testing within speculated timings and milestones through utilization of engineering knowledge and decision-making process.
- Excellent communication skills, with demonstrable ability of communicating with cross functional teams and influencing at all levels.
- Evidence of leading commodity delivery and co-ordination of Manufacturing, CAE & Validation Teams.
- Tools ability: Significant experience and fluency in use of engineering tools - RTC-RMDV and TRM / X-ray process, FMEA, Agile and Scrum.
- PC Literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc.
- CAD Literacy: Ability to understand and inspect CAD data in CATIA V5/V6 or viz mock-up.
- This position is responsible for establishing , planning and running the engineering Sub-system meetings to ensure appropriate cross functional representation and input from all relevant areas.
- Ensure progression of design quality maturity from initial concept through to final engineering sign-Off (FESO).
- Establishing and maintaining the teamwork plan aligned to vehicle program.
- Ensure Regulatory compliance of Interiors and their market wise legal requirements.
- Define appropriate engineering targets to meet function, quality and attribute requirements for the Vehicle Program.
- Develop and maintain the design validation plan (DVP) including both in-house and supplier testing plan and ensure development signoff tests are completed on schedule.
- Troubleshoot and resolve all Validation issues.
- Develop System Design Specifications incorporating engineering standards, test procedures and material specifications.
- Lead Failure Mode Avoidance activities including DFMEA, quality history reviews and DFA/DFM reviews.
- Lead the resolution of design, attribute or packaging incompatibilities through the appropriate cross-functional meetings.
- Management of Supplier (s) to ensure system/component delivery to vehicle programme timing and attribute targets.
- Support Purchasing team in Sourcing and RFQ activities including the creation of ESOWs, PDSs and ESIs.
- Support vehicles launch and pre-production builds (both virtual and physical).
- Ensuring the effective application of APQP to manage system/component delivery.
- Ensure delivery of PSW, through planning from project start to sign off.
- Follow and deliver company goals and strategies.
- Ensure system, sub-system and components meet DVA, Optical and Perceived Quality targets.
