Procurement Officer – Waste Management

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and resourceful Procurement Officer with a background in sourcing industrial waste materials including Plastic waste, Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), Waste Oil, and Black Carbon. The ideal candidate will be responsible for vendor development, negotiations, purchasing, and ensuring cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities: 1.Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers and vendors dealing with Plastic waste, RDF, Waste Oil, and Black Carbon. 2.Negotiate procurement contracts with a focus on quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery. 3.Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the operations team to ensure adequate material supply. 4.Conduct market research to stay updated on trends, price movements, and availability of required waste materials. 5.Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring reliability and transparency. 6.Ensure all procurement activities comply with environmental regulations, safety norms, and company policies. 7.Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance. 8.Prepare reports for management on procurement status, vendor performance, and cost analysis. Requirements: 1.Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or related field. (MBA preferred) 2. 2–5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in waste management, recycling, or energy sectors. 3.Strong knowledge of waste streams: Plastic, RDF, Waste Oil, Black Carbon. 4.Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 5.Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations related to waste materials. 6.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems. 7.Ability to travel and interact with vendors across regions. Preferred Skills: 1.Experience in vendor development and contract management. 2.Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 3.Understanding of sustainable sourcing and circular economy practices.
