Position Overview

The Procurement Manager will oversee sourcing, vendor management, and supply chain operations for raw materials, packaging, and services essential to Ayurvedic product manufacturing. The role requires deep knowledge of herbal ingredients, regulatory compliance, and sustainable procurement practices to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers of Ayurvedic raw materials, herbs, oils, and packaging.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and long-term supply agreements.
• Build strong relationships with farmers, cooperatives, and certified herbal suppliers.

• Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all procured materials meet Ayurvedic, GMP, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams for supplier audits and certifications.
• Maintain documentation for traceability and compliance with AYUSH/FSSAI guidelines.

• Inventory & Supply Chain Management

• Forecast demand and plan procurement schedules aligned with production needs.
• Optimize inventory levels to balance availability and cost.
• Coordinate logistics for timely delivery and minimize wastage.

• Cost Optimization & Sustainability

• Drive cost savings through strategic negotiations and supplier partnerships.
• Promote sustainable sourcing practices, including organic and eco-friendly materials.
• Monitor market trends in herbs, oils, and Ayurvedic ingredients.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with R&D, Production, and Marketing teams to support new product development.
• Provide insights on ingredient availability and pricing trends.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 7–10 years of procurement experience, preferably in FMCG, herbal, or Ayurvedic industries.
• Strong knowledge of Ayurvedic raw materials, herbal supply chains, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
• Commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing.
