Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Procurement & Planning:

    • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals and budgets.
    • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers to ensure optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance.
    • Forecast procurement needs based on production and project schedules.
  • Vendor Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
    • Conduct supplier audits, performance reviews, and risk assessments.
    • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to maximize value and minimize risk.
  • Cost Optimization & Budgeting:

    • Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or timelines.
    • Monitor market trends, raw material prices, and currency fluctuations.
    • Prepare and manage the procurement budget and ensure adherence to financial controls.
  • Process Improvement & Compliance:

    • Establish and enforce procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and ethical sourcing standards.
    • Digitize and automate procurement processes for efficiency and transparency.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead and mentor the procurement team to enhance performance and accountability.
    • Promote cross-functional collaboration with finance, operations, and production teams.
  • Reporting & Analysis:

    • Develop procurement performance dashboards and KPIs for management review.
    • Analyze procurement data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making ability.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and e-procurement tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • In-depth understanding of supply chain dynamics and cost drivers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Commerce, or related field.
  • MBA or professional certification (CIPS, CPSM) preferred.
  • 15 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in [industry — e.g., manufacturing, engineering, EPC, FMCG, etc.] preferred.
