Location: Taloja, Navi Mumbai

Job Overview:

We are looking for a Purchase Executive to manage the procurement of raw materials, consumables, and engineering spares while ensuring smooth and timely production support. The ideal candidate should have strong market awareness, vendor negotiation skills, and the ability to maintain accurate documentation and compliance. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can handle multiple tasks, evaluate suppliers, analyze costs, and ensure timely and cost-effective purchases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement & Sourcing
• Identify and source raw materials (steel scrap, billets, ingots, coils), consumables, engineering spares, and other production requirements.
• Issue Purchase Orders (POs) in alignment with approved requisitions.
• Conduct supplier research, compare pricing, and analyze market trends to secure cost-effective procurement.
• Explore new vendors to enhance supply chain efficiency and widen sourcing options.

Vendor Management

• Establish and maintain long-term professional relationships with suppliers and service providers.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on delivery, pricing, quality, and responsiveness.
• Obtain quotations, prepare comparison sheets, and negotiate favorable terms and prices.
• Address any vendor-related concerns and ensure timely resolution.

Material Planning & Coordination

• Coordinate closely with Production and Stores to plan material requirements.
• Track PO status and ensure timely follow-ups for on-time delivery.
• Liaise with logistics teams for smooth inward and outward movement of material.
• Ensure there are no disruptions in production due to procurement delays.

Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare POs, contracts, delivery schedules, GRN follow-ups, and other procurement documentation.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, GST regulations, and statutory norms.
• Maintain updated records of vendor details, pricing, and purchase history.

Cost Control & Budgeting

• Monitor daily and monthly material costs, identify price fluctuations, and suggest cost-saving measures.
• Support in planning and managing annual procurement budgets.
• Ensure value for money without compromising quality or timelines.

Coordination with Accounts

• Verify invoices against POs and GRNs for timely payments.
• Coordinate with Accounts to resolve discrepancies related to quantity, pricing, or taxation.

Qualifications:

• BCom / BBA / BE (Mechanical) / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• MBA in Supply Chain / Materials Management preferred

Skills:

• Strong negotiation, communication skills, and vendor management expertise.
• Knowledge of procurement cycles, supply chain processes, and manufacturing raw materials (steel preferred).
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Tally.
• Ability to analyze pricing trends, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain accurate documentation and coordination.
