Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Sourcing & Localization:
  • oDevelop and implement Strategy aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements for localization of parts / commodities for various product lines at factory by identifying competent local supplier base for Medical Industry for electronic / mechanical commodities
    oManaging commodities: Sheet Metal, Machined Parts, Electromechanical Assemblies, Castings, Plastic Parts, Cable Assemblies, Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS), HMI Applications, etc.
    oUnderstanding of manufacturing processes to enable evaluate supplier cost sheets with open book policy
    oConduct total cost of ownership (TCO) assessments for Business case analysis.
  • Supplier Management:
  • oBuild and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers and manufacturers.
    oLead supplier qualification, audits, and performance evaluations to ensure conformance to Supplier Management goals (cost, quality, delivery)
    oNegotiate price, contract terms and conditions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • oInfluence design specifications to ensure applicability to broad technology, supplier and part capability in collaboration with R&D, Process Planning, Logistics & Quality for product cost reduction
    oCollaborate with Global procurement & R&D teams to align localization efforts with broader sourcing strategies.
    oUses high level of judgement to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems that impact the function. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and provide recommendations.
  • Market Intelligence & Risk Management:
  • oDevelop and maintain an in-depth market knowledge of assigned commodities for supplier technologies, manufacturing processes within the Healthcare Industry, including cost comparisons with global markets
    oMonitor market trends, regulatory changes, and geopolitical factors affecting local sourcing.
    oDevelop risk mitigation plans for supply disruptions and quality issues.
  • Cost Optimization & Reporting:
  • oDrive cost savings through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and value engineering.
    oTrack and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to localization, cost savings, and supplier performance.
    Qualifications & Skills:
  • Diploma / Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electronics) from an accredited university
  • 6+ years of experience in Strategic procurement / Sourcing / Vendor development (preferred Healthcare sector)
  • Proven experience in supplier localization and development.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and procurement tools.
  • Multilingual capabilities and experience working in global/multicultural environments.
