Process Lead – Upstream Oil & Gas

Vedanta is a $30bn revenue and $10bn in profit organization and further plans to invest $20bn in 4-5 years’ time in the expansion of their brown field and some green field capacity of Oil & Gas, Renewable energy, display glass, semiconductor, mining, and smelting.

Job Summary:

Process Lead

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage process engineering activities for upstream oil & gas projects (onshore/offshore).
• Prepare and review process deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, heat and material balances, equipment sizing, process datasheets, and cause & effect diagrams.
• Provide technical leadership during project phases such as conceptual design, FEED, detailed engineering, and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (API, ASME, ISO, etc.) and company TSG specifications.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, instrumentation, piping, and safety engineering.
• Coordinate with clients, licensors, vendors, and contractors to ensure alignment on process requirements.
• Support HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and other safety studies.
• Provide process simulations using tools such as HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or equivalent.
• Participate in design reviews, technical workshops, and value engineering exercises.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to Young process engineers.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience in upstream oil & gas industry.
• Proven experience in process design for production facilities (separation, gas processing, dehydration, compression, water treatment, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, etc.).
• Strong understanding of industry codes and standards (API, ISO, IEC, etc.).
• Experience working on international projects is a plus.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project coordination skills.
