Job Description: Principal / Academic Head

Position Overview

The Principal / Academic Head will work as the second-in-command to the Principal/Director, ensuring smooth academic and administrative functioning of the institute. This leadership role demands strong industry knowledge, academic vision, and the ability to mentor both faculty and students to achieve excellence in multimedia education.

Key Responsibilities Academic Leadership

• Oversee the implementation of industry-relevant multimedia curriculum across all programs.
• Monitor teaching quality, project development, and student outcomes through systematic reviews.
• Introduce and drive 21st-century creative learning practices such as project-based learning, studio simulations, and industry-driven workshops.
• Mentor and guide faculty to ensure continuous professional development.

Administrative Management

• Assist the Director in day-to-day operations of the institute.
• Supervise timetables, course schedules, and faculty deployment to ensure optimal efficiency.
• Ensure discipline, attendance tracking, and smooth conduct of academic as well as creative workshops/events.
• Maintain compliance with educational norms, institute policies, and safety regulations.

Student Development & Welfare

• Promote a culture of skill-based, career-focused development through real-time projects, internships, and portfolio building.
• Encourage student participation in competitions, festivals, and live industry projects.
• Address student concerns and ensure a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment.

Parent, Industry & Community Engagement

• Build and maintain strong parent-school partnerships through PTMs, workshops, and transparent communication.
• Represent the institute in events, seminars, festivals, and collaborations at national/international levels.

Institutional Growth

• Support the Director in strategic initiatives to enhance the institute’s brand and reach.
• Lead special projects such as film fests, design expos, MUN-style creative meets, cultural events, ensuring large student participation.
• Work with management to align academic goals with the institute’s long-term vision .

Qualifications & Experience

• Master’s Degree in Any Stream or related field (B.Ed. not mandatory, but academic/teaching background preferred).
• 8–10 years of teaching/training experience with at least 3–5 years in a leadership/coordination role in education or creative industry.
• Strong knowledge of Education Institute and Creative and Media Field.
• Proven record in faculty management, academic innovation, and large-scale event/portfolio leadership.
