- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in pavement engineering, particularly in airfield applications.
- Proven project planning and delivery skills, with the ability to manage complex engineering projects.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to lead meetings, collaborate with clients, and offer solutions to business challenges.
- A postgraduate degree in Transportation Engineering (preferred), with deep expertise in airfield pavement design, materials, and specifications.
- Understanding of broader airfield infrastructure, including
- Airfield geometry
- Grading and drainage
- Security systems
- Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL)
- Navigation Aids (NAV-Aids)
- Strong capabilities in managing and producing high-quality technical documentation, including
- Design reports
- Specifications
- Drawings
- Presentation materials
- Ability to contribute to business development, including identifying opportunities and supporting proposal submissions.
Technical/Functional Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the disciplined application of pavement design for airport infrastructure. Key tasks include
- Structural design of airfield and roadway pavements.
- Preparation of pavement plans, cross-sections, and construction details.
- Writing airfield pavement construction specifications.
- Conducting pavement investigations and interpreting factual data.
- Performing geotechnical investigations and analysis for pavement design.
- Taking ownership of work and delivering high-quality technical output.
- Communicating effectively with clients and lead offices.
- Coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Ensuring all deliverables meet the project brief and quality standards.
- Acting as a project manager to develop and implement opportunity response plans.
- Building internal networks to share best practices and technical knowledge.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, and work outside core hours when required.
Here's what you'll need
- Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Pavement Design or equivalent.
- Minimum 15 years of total experience, including at least 5-7 years in airfield pavement design and project management.
- Proven expertise in pavement design standards, including FAA and other international guidelines.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills in pavement design and engineering.
