Principal Engineer, Digital Innovation

As an S/4HANA Production Planning (PP) Principal, you will be part of our IT digital S&OP team of experts. Your responsibility spans around creating detailed blueprints and business requirement documents helping to develop and implement these requirements into S/4HANA and other systems as well as providing business functional support around SAP PP module.

You should have a good functional knowledge in standard SAP Production modules (PP,PI) along with integration into other SAP Supply Chain modules (MM / SD and IBP). Your ability to understand business requirements & design, dealing with production issues related to planning processes, such as capacity planning, material planning, execution of production orders, bill of material and goods movement are fundamental for success.

A deep knowledge in the sub-areas of Production planning completes your experience in order to run projects in the S&OP area end to end. As a strategic interface between IT and the Supply Chain organization you will ensures that IT solutions and services align with business goals, drive value and support operational excellence across planning functions.

• Solution Enablement & Support

  • Implement and support PP processes around planning systems
  • Ensure solutions meet business requirements and drive operational efficiency.
  • Monitor performance and adoption of planning tools and technologies.
  • Manage planning-related IT initiatives from ideation through delivery.

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and digital innovation in production planning.

  Strategic Partnership & Alignment

  • Serve as primary IT point of contact for S&OP and Production Planning stakeholders.
  • Understand business strategies, challenges, and opportunities to shape IT demand and roadmap.
  • Aligning technology initiatives with business goals, driving digital transformation, and ensuring the successful delivery of IT solutions that support Sales & Operations Planning and Production Planning processes.

  Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Build strong relationships with business leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Facilitate clear communication between IT and business units.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and change agent within the planning domain.

• Minimum 5 plus years of experience in SAP PP module.
• Proven experience in integrating SAP Supply chain modules and any MES.
• Strong knowledge of SAP PP and its core functionalities (see below)
• Awareness of the MM/SD Cycle business processes (see below)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think analytically.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Able to work under pressure without supervision, flexible and a good team player
• SAP certification in S4 Manufacturing/ PP is preferred
• Master Planning PP-MP, Demand Management ( PP-MP-DEM) ,Long Term planning ( PP-MP-DEM), Capacity Planning ( PP - CRP), Material Requirements Planning ( PP-MRP), Repetitive Manufacturing ( PP-REM)

• Production lot planning/individual project planning, Assembly to order ( LO-ASM), Production Planning for Process Industries ( PP-PI)

• Cross Functional modules (MM/SD) working knowledge especially distribution/ replenishment planning components such as Purchase Info records, Stock transport orders, Capable to promise , ATP checks etc.

• The candidate should be very familiar with the Manufacturing processes. He/ She should be comfortable with master data components of SAP PP such as BOM ( PP-BD-BOM), Production version, Work Center, Routings, Production Planning Cycle etc.

• The candidate should have worked on integrated systems and should be comfortable with monitoring interfaces and applications. The candidate must be familiar with working on customized Objects.

• The candidate should have experience working in Project, Application Support Services in an end-user facing position, and he/she should be familiar with Incident Management and Problem Management along with an understanding of Business priority and criticality.

• 
  Bonus Skills: A basic understanding of SAP IBP demand & supply planning , ABAP code read with debugging would be given preference.
