PLC Engineer

Key Responsibilities

PLC & Automation Systems:

• Perform troubleshooting, modification, and programming of PLC systems (Keyence KV8000, Inovance PLCs, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent).
• Troubleshoot EtherCAT based networks, including communication with remote I/O (GL20-RTU-ECT) & I/O modules (KV-XH16EC).
• Ensure availability and reliability of automated systems through timely fault diagnosis and corrective actions.
• Maintain PLC hardware/software backups and documentation.

VFD Systems:

• Handle preventive and corrective maintenance and diagnose issues of Variable Frequency Drives (Inovance MD800, Servo Drives like SV635N, ABB, Schneider, Siemens, etc.).
• Monitor drive performance, fault history, and optimize parameters for efficient operations.
• Support integration of VFDs with PLCs/SCADA systems.

Robotics:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and program industrial robotic systems (KUKA, Fanuc, ABB, or equivalent).
• Maintain and monitor industrial Ethernet switches (Kyland Opal20 series) ensuring network stability.
• Support robot path adjustments, calibration, and cycle time improvements.
• Ensure safety standards and interlocks are functioning properly in robotic operations.

Maintenance & Operations:

• Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance for all automation equipment.
• Support production team in resolving automation-related issues quickly to minimize downtime.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, breakdown reports, and root cause analysis.

Continuous Improvement:

• Participate in automation upgrade projects and suggest improvements for system reliability.
• Train technicians/operators in basic troubleshooting of PLC, VFD, and robotics systems.

Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure compliance with plant safety standards and electrical codes during maintenance activities.
• Follow lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) and other safety protocols while handling electrical/automation equipment.

Skills & Competencies Required

• Strong knowledge of PLC programming & troubleshooting (ladder logic, function block, structured text).
• Hands-on experience with Keyence KV8000, Inovance PLCs, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, & EtherCAT-based systems.
• Working knowledge of VFDs (Inovance MD800), Servo Drives (SV635N).
• Familiarity with SCADA/HMI systems, sensors, and industrial communication protocols (Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
• Familiarity with robotics systems and motion control applications.
• Basic networking knowledge (industrial Ethernet switches like Kyland Opal20).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams.
