Plant Head - Mineral Processing (Hyderabad)

Role & responsibilities

• Plan and manage production schedules to meet quality and quantity targets.
• Monitor the performance of plant processes and identify opportunities for operational efficiency.
• Ensure smooth integration between maintenance activities and production schedules to minimize disruptions.
• Oversee the maintenance and efficient operation of critical equipment such as crushers, VSI (Vertical Shaft Impact) crushers, conveyors, continuous ball mills, air compressors, and other processing equipment.
• Develop and implement a robust preventive maintenance system to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
• Analyze equipment performance, identify potential issues, and ensure timely repairs and upgrades.
• Establish and enforce good maintenance practices to improve reliability and productivity.
• Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and tools to ensure quick resolution of mechanical failures.
• Lead and mentor the plant team to ensure alignment with plant goals.
• Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team skills, particularly in equipment handling and safety practices. o Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among staff
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and industry standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments, addressing any safety or compliance issues promptly.
• Promote a safety-first mindset across all plant operations.
• Develop and execute maintenance schedules, utilizing predictive and condition based monitoring techniques.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, focusing on cost reduction and efficiency gains.
• Collaborate with senior management to align plant objectives with organizational goals.
• Prepare and manage the operations and maintenance budget, ensuring effective cost control.
• Optimize resource utilization, including labor, materials, and utilities, to enhance productivity.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications and Experience:

• T

  he ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant operations, and equipment maintenance, with at least 10 years of experience in the mineral processing, Cement or similar industries.

• Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) or a related field.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a mineral processing, cement or related industry, with strong exposure to equipment maintenance and production management.

• Proven expertise in maintaining and optimizing heavy equipment, including crushers, VSI, conveyors, ball mills, and air compressors.

• Hands-on experience in implementing preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
• Deep understanding of mechanical and electrical maintenance principles.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement of plant equipment.
• Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
• Familiarity with statutory compliance and safety regulations in the mining or mineral processing sector. Knowledge of maintenance management systems (CMMS) and ERP software.
• Ready to work out of Hyderabad location.
