Placement Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Placement Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for bridging the gap between academia and industry by actively engaging with corporate partners and facilitating employment opportunities for our students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various technical and academic domains, with a focus on ensuring our graduates are well-matched with relevant and meaningful career paths.

This is a hands-on role that requires both strategic planning and day-to-day operational excellence in a fast-paced educational environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate recruiters, industry leaders, and alumni to generate placement and internship opportunities.
• Organize and execute campus recruitment drives, industry-specific workshops, and career fairs.
• Collaborate with academic departments to align student skill sets with industry requirements, providing tailored career guidance and training.
• Conduct market research to identify emerging industry trends and technical skill gaps, and translate these insights into effective student development programs.
• Manage and update student and company databases, and generate detailed placement reports for senior management.
• Provide one-on-one career counseling to students, including resume building, interview preparation, and professional etiquette.
• Act as a primary point of contact for companies, managing all communication and logistics related to the recruitment process.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of work experience, with a significant portion in a placement, corporate relations, or similar role within a recognized university or college.
• Demonstrated subject-specific or technical expertise, with the ability to converse credibly with industry professionals in domains relevant to student specializations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and a multi-tiered management structure.

Preferred:

• A Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
• Experience with placement management software or CRM systems.
• A solid network of contacts within the corporate sector.
