Job Summary The Fuel Equipment Design Engineer will be responsible for and subject matter expert on the full design of fuel system and combustion equipment supply with a focus on natural gas delivery systems and gas-fired low NOx combustion technology for wall fired and T fired boilers in the industrial and electric utility space. Essential Responsibilities: Serve as the lead design engineer on projects in the development of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDS) for complete natural gas delivery systems. Design, specify and/or select appropriate equipment for responsible systems, such as natural gas filtration, pressure reduction and/or flow control equipment as well as burners system components and auxiliaries. Partners with other engineering groups as a cross-functional resource to meet project requirements. Provide proposal and sales support with customer presentations, consultative technical guidance, and project financial estimates. Author field test procedures and reports, and lead service teams during fuel system commissioning and burner and emissions performance optimization and acceptance testing programs. Produce and present technical content at conferences while networking within the industry. Develop and/or maintain existing engineering standards for equipment sizing and performance predictions. Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Bachelor of Science Degree in either Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. Master's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering preferred. Eight (8) or more years’ experience in the power or related industry. Demonstrated excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Job Summary With assistance from Supervisor and/or Project Design Lead, produce and check CAD drawings of industrial equipment with a focus on combustion technology (burners), fuel handling, piping systems (including gas skids), and pulverizes for utility and process boilers using knowledge of basic engineering principles, and current manufacturing or fabrication methods and procedures. Constantly review drawings in process, checking for integrity of design, and cost effectiveness, considering fabrication and construction requirements. Communicate with fabricators, vendors, construction personnel and other internal or external groups as required. It is essential to keep the Engineer informed about the progress of your work and to assist in addressing welding quality issues and improvements. You must ensure that daily work schedules and production targets are met. Compliance with all relevant quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations is mandatory. As part of your role, you will be required to perform various types of welding, brazing, and cutting on different metals using standard welding tools. Following Hablem practices and specifications, as well as the ASME Code for Welder certification, is crucial. Your responsibilities will also involve planning layouts, constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining pipelines, fittings, and fixtures as needed for plant construction and maintenance projects. Close collaboration with supervision and QA/QC teams is expected. You will need to interpret P & ID drawings and other layout drawings to determine the appropriate welding processes.
