Key Responsibilities: Design and Engineering: Lead the design, specification, and optimization of wet scrubber systems (e.g., packed bed scrubbers, venturi scrubbers, etc.) for air pollution control applications in industries such as chemical processing, power generation, or manufacturing. Develop detailed engineering drawings, PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams), P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and other necessary technical documentation. Select appropriate materials and components for scrubber systems, ensuring compatibility with process requirements and environmental regulations. Project Management and Execution: Plan, coordinate, and manage the implementation of wet scrubber systems on time, within scope, and within budget. Oversee the installation, integration, and testing of scrubber systems, ensuring they meet the design specifications and operational requirements. Work closely with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of the project. Compliance and Regulatory Standards: Ensure that wet scrubber designs comply with environmental regulations, air quality standards, and industry-specific guidelines. Perform calculations and simulations to verify the system's capacity to meet emission limits and other performance criteria. Monitor and ensure the project adheres to local, state, and federal environmental laws regarding air pollution control. System Optimization and Troubleshooting: Conduct operational assessments of wet scrubber systems to ensure optimal performance, including efficiency in pollutant removal, water usage, and maintenance. Analyze performance data and recommend adjustments or upgrades to improve system performance. Provide technical support to resolve operational issues and implement corrective actions when necessary. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with environmental engineers, mechanical engineers, and other project stakeholders to deliver integrated and efficient wet scrubber solutions. Prepare and present reports on project progress, performance, and compliance to senior management and clients. Liaise with regulatory agencies to ensure that all compliance documentation is complete and up to date. Testing and Commissioning: Oversee the commissioning of wet scrubber systems, ensuring that all components function properly and meet performance specifications. Conduct on-site testing of scrubbers, including efficiency tests, air flow measurements, and pollutant capture rates. Train operational staff on the use and maintenance of scrubber systems. Cost and Budget Management: Prepare cost estimates for scrubber system projects, including design, procurement, and installation. Track project expenses and ensure that projects are completed within the allocated budget. Safety and Risk Management: Ensure all wet scrubber projects are executed safely and that all health and safety protocols are followed during installation and operation. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the safety of both personnel and equipment.
