Part-Time Email Operations & Deliverability Manager

India Abroad is a fast-growing, Indian diaspora–focused news platform covering U.S.–India relations, policy, politics, community news, and global Indian stories. We publish a high-frequency digital newsletter for readers across the United States, India, and beyond.


Role:

Part-Time Email Operations & Deliverability Manager

Key Responsibilities (Technical & Compliance-Driven)
  • Manage end-to-end newsletter deployment with high inbox placement and minimal spam filtering
  • Improve open rates, click rates, sender reputation, and domain health through data-driven optimizations
  • Ensure full compliance with

    CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL

    , platform-specific rules, and industry anti-spam standards
  • Execute advanced segmentation logic, engagement scoring, and list hygiene practices
  • Monitor, track, and manage hard/soft bounces, spam complaints, and suppression lists
  • Coordinate

    SPF, DKIM, and DMARC

    alignment with our technical environment; troubleshoot deliverability issues
  • Run

    A/B and multivariate tests

    on subject lines, CTAs, layouts, and send-times
  • Produce weekly performance reports with clear insights and actionable technical recommendations
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in

    email marketing operations

    or

    deliverability management

  • Strong understanding of

    authentication protocols

    and compliance frameworks
  • Hands-on expertise with ESPs such as

    SendGrid, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Constant Contact

    , or similar
  • Ability to work independently and meet the cadence of a

    daily publishing cycle

  • Precision, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills
  • Strong sense of

    news, headlines, and digital audiences

    – especially related to India, the Indian diaspora, and U.S.–India affairs
  • Excellent written English, strong attention to detail, and comfort working with

    tight daily deadlines

  • Comfortable working with a

    small, fast-moving editorial team

    across time zones
