Job Description

As an Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager in the Paint Engineering department at the Production Engineering division, your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - New plant set-up, process & layout planning, specification preparation, scheduling, installation, and commissioning of equipment for the paint shop. - Designing conveyor facilities for new models and upgrading existing equipment in Paint facilities. - Knowledge of paints, application methods, issues, and countermeasures. - Process planning considering capacity requirements, material flow, and process needs. - Facility planning & set-up including equipment specification, layouts, procurement, installation, and commissioning for Booth, Oven, PT/ED, Conveyors, etc. - Designing painting jigs, sealer & wax nozzles. - Capacity expansion by identifying and eliminating bottlenecks through Kaizens & cycle time reduction. - Introducing new technologies to support the manufacturing process in paint shops. - Proactively identifying defects and planning for rectification. - Upgrading equipment in existing paint shops with the latest technology and energy-efficient solutions. - Designing low viscous & high viscous material circulation systems. - Performing basic testing to evaluate paint film properties. - Designing fire protection systems in flammable areas of paint shops. - Implementing digital mock-ups for concurrent engineering in new models. Qualifications Required: - B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical/Industrial/Production/Paint/Chemical engineering. - Domain knowledge of manufacturing processes at Paint Shops. - Ability to read drawings and judge quality control parameters requirements and techniques. - Hands-on experience in equipment/plant set-up related to Paint shop for 2-wheeler/4-wheeler. - Familiarity with software such as Uni-graphics, Auto-cad, Factory-CAD, ED Simulation, Off Line robot programming (OLP). - Effective communication skills with suppliers and monitoring the overall development process. - Strategic thinking, strong execution orientation, and problem-solving approach.
