Paint Engineer

As an Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager in the Paint Engineering Department within the Production Engineering Division, your role will involve various responsibilities related to new plant set-up, process and layout planning, equipment installation and commissioning for paint shop facilities. You will be required to design conveyor systems for new models and upgrade existing equipment in the paint facilities. Additionally, your knowledge of paints, application methods, and associated issues will be crucial. Your key responsibilities will include process planning to ensure efficient material flow and capacity requirements, facility planning and set-up involving equipment specifications, layouts, procurement, installation, and commissioning of various equipment such as Booths, Ovens, PT/ED, and Conveyors. You will also be responsible for designing painting jigs, sealers, wax nozzles, and implementing capacity expansion through bottleneck identification and elimination using Kaizens and cycle time reduction methods. Furthermore, you will need to introduce new technologies to support manufacturing processes in paint shops, identify defects proactively, upgrade existing equipment with the latest technology and energy-efficient solutions, and design fire protection systems in flammable areas of paint shops. Your role will also involve performing basic testing to evaluate paint film properties, utilizing digital mock-ups for concurrent engineering in new models, and designing material circulation systems for low viscous and high viscous materials. In terms of competencies and skills, you are expected to have domain knowledge of manufacturing processes in paint shops, be able to read drawings, judge quality control parameters, and understand technical and commercial requirements for paint shop set-up. Hands-on experience with equipment and plant set-up related to paint shops for two-wheelers and four-wheelers is essential, along with proficiency in software such as Uni-graphics, Auto-cad, Factory-CAD, ED Simulation, and Off-Line robot programming. Moreover, you should possess the ability to communicate specific requirements with suppliers effectively, monitor development processes, and demonstrate strategic thinking, strong execution orientation, and problem-solving skills. Behavioral competencies such as target orientation, communication and presentation skills, flexibility, teamwork, and networking skills are also crucial for success in this role.,
