Operating Theatre (OT) Manager – Key Responsibilities

The OT Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and effective functioning of the Operating Theatre within a hospital setting. They are responsible for managing day-to-day operations, coordinating with clinical teams, maintaining high standards of patient care, and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols and healthcare regulations.

1. Scheduling and Coordination

• Efficiently schedule surgical cases in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff.
• Oversee the smooth flow of patients through the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.
• Minimize delays and optimize OT utilization through effective planning.

2. Inventory and Logistics

• Ensure timely availability of surgical instruments, consumables, and other medical supplies.
• Monitor stock levels, place timely orders, and coordinate with procurement departments.
• Implement inventory control systems to avoid shortages or wastage.

3. Staff Management

• Allocate staff shifts based on operational needs and ensure adequate staffing at all times.
• Supervise OT personnel, monitor performance, and provide ongoing training and development.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.

4. Sterility and Infection Control

• Enforce strict adherence to infection prevention and control protocols.
• Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of the OT environment and surgical tools.
• Conduct regular audits and training to maintain compliance with hygiene standards.

5. Equipment Maintenance

• Oversee the maintenance and calibration of all OT equipment.
• Liaise with biomedical engineering teams for timely repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure availability and readiness of critical surgical tools and machines.

6. Record Keeping

• Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all surgeries, including patient details, procedures, and any intra-operative events or complications.
• Ensure confidentiality and proper documentation in line with medical and legal standards.

7. Patient Care

• Support the clinical team in ensuring patient safety, comfort, and dignity throughout the surgical process.
• Monitor patient conditions and coordinate care across all phases of surgery.

8. Collaboration

• Foster effective communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and support staff.
• Serve as a liaison between departments to streamline workflows and resolve operational issues.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
