Job Purpose:

Responsible for the implementation, administration, and support of the OSIsoft (AVEVA) PI System used for real-time data acquisition, historian functions, performance monitoring, and integration with engineering and business applications. The role ensures data integrity, system availability, and supports analytics and reporting solutions for plant operations.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline.

Experience:

8-10 years of hands-on experience in OSIsoft / AVEVA PI System implementation, integration, and support.

Preferred Certifications:

OSIsoft PI System Infrastructure or Developer Certification.

AVEVA Certified Professional – PI System.

Technical Skills:

Expertise in:

PI Data Archive, PI AF, PI Vision, PI Interfaces/Connectors, and PI SDK/PI Web API.

Strong understanding of industrial protocols (OPC DA/UA, Modbus, MQTT, etc.)

Familiarity with Windows Server, SQL Server, networking, and cybersecurity concepts.

Scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or VBScript.

Experience with AVEVA Insight / AVEVA Data Hub / Power BI integration is an advantage.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Ability to work cross-functionally with IT, OT, and process engineering teams.

Detail-oriented and proactive in system monitoring and improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

System Administration & Configuration

Install, configure, and maintain AVEVA PI System components (PI Server, PI Data Archive, PI AF, PI Vision, PI Interfaces, and PI Connectors).

Manage PI Points, Asset Framework (AF) templates, and hierarchies.

Maintain system health, backup, and security configuration.

Integration & Connectivity

Develop and manage data interfaces with DCS, PLCs, SCADA, OPC, Modbus, and third-party systems.

Integrate PI data with AVEVA Insight, AVEVA Data Hub, and other enterprise systems (ERP, MES).

Troubleshoot communication and data flow issues between control systems and PI.

Data Analytics & Visualization

Develop dashboards and reports in PI Vision, Power BI, or AVEVA Insight.

Work with process and production engineers to define KPIs and implement performance monitoring.

Support predictive maintenance and energy optimization initiatives using PI data.

User Support & Training

Provide user training and support for PI Vision, AF Explorer, and related tools.

Develop user manuals and system documentation.

Respond to data queries and system access requests.

Governance & Security

Implement and enforce PI system security policies.

Coordinate with IT and cybersecurity teams for compliance with company standards.

Conduct regular audits and performance tuning.
