Job Description

A. Delivery Operations Management

  • Plan, schedule, and execute daily last-mile delivery operations from hub/warehouse.
  • Ensure all shipments are dispatched and delivered within SLA timelines.
  • Monitor live delivery status and track vehicle movement via GPS.
  • Manage load planning, routing, and vehicle allocation based on demand.
  • Coordinate with warehouse teams for parcel readiness and manifesting.

B. Driver & Fleet Management

  • Assign delivery trips to drivers based on availability and area clusters.
  • Brief drivers on daily routes, delivery expectations, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure timely attendance and deployment of drivers/riders.
  • Maintain driver performance records, attendance, discipline, and productivity.
  • Handle escalation related to driver behavior, delays, or route deviations.

C. Vehicle Coordination & Compliance

  • Ensure vehicles are available, fuelled, and road-ready before dispatch.
  • Coordinate with vendors/fleet owners for additional vehicles when required.
  • Ensure vehicle documents, insurance, and compliance are up to date.
  • Ensure 100% adherence to safety and company guidelines.

D. Customer & Client Coordination

  • Coordinate with client representatives for delivery schedules and priority shipments.
  • Provide timely updates and resolve delivery-related customer escalations.
  • Share daily/weekly MIS reports with clients & internal stakeholders.

E. Issue Resolution

  • Address delivery challenges including rider no-shows, vehicle breakdowns, route bottlenecks, failed deliveries, etc.
  • Re-plan routes or assign backup vehicles/drivers in real time.
  • Manage RTO (Return to Origin) and NDR (Non-Delivery Report) processes.

F. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, trip reports, POD records, and shipment status.
  • Prepare daily MIS on deliveries, load factors, driver productivity, fuel usage, and exceptions.
  • Track performance KPIs such as on-time delivery %, cost per shipment, and route efficiency.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent understanding of last-mile delivery operations.
  • Knowledge of routing, clustering, and fleet planning.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage teams of drivers/riders under pressure.
  • Familiarity with GPS tracking, TMS/LMS systems, and delivery apps.
  • Problem-solving mindset with quick decision-making ability.
  • Experience handling client communication and escalations.
