Nursing Educator

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the provision of nursing orientation and teaching and training programs based on perceived needs, together with continuing education for all nursing staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· To participate in the work of the units, evaluates clinical standard and identifies areas of need for specific education and training for nursing staff, and prepares and delivers the required programs.

· Co-ordinates the provision of practical experience programs for registers nurses.

· Maintains a general ongoing continuing education program Hospital Nursing Staff

· Provides encouragement and assistance to nursing staff to maintain current knowledge in nursing practices and research

· Participates in the maintenance of up-to-date nursing policies and procedures

· Acts as consultant to professional colleagues on all matters related to learning, and all matters that promote knowledge enhancement of nurses.

· Teaches & coordinates the training programmes on Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation to all qualified nurses.

· Teaches the various theoretical and practical aspect of nursing care

· Gives suggestions for the purchase of learning material and other education resources

· Submits a quarterly written report on the progress of the various nursing training activities

· Ensures that all staff knows and understands department policies and procedures concerning CPR, fire, disaster, emergency codes etc.

· Follow all ACCREDITATION BODIES STANDARDS (e.g. CBAHI, JCI…. Etc) related to his/her day to day work and participates actively in quality and performance improvement activities as guided by the Total Quality Management Department.

Skills Required: Good communication, Presentation skills, Up-to-date knowledge of modern nursing procedures with specialist

Working Condition: Closed environment within the hospital wards including sensitive areas like AMC, ICCU and INCU, Standing and walking for long periods of time, frequent interruptions, handling multiple tasks simultaneously
