NPD Manager

Job Title: Head – New Product Development (NPD) Location: Chennai Job Type: Full-time Experience: 10+ years Salary: 13lpa to 15lpa Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of New Product Development (NPD) to lead and drive product innovation from concept to commercialization. The ideal candidate will oversee the entire product development lifecycle, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and market-driven products. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage end-to-end new product development initiatives. Collaborate with R&D, design, production, quality, and marketing teams. Evaluate market trends and customer feedback to identify new product opportunities. Define project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety, and quality regulations. Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation of new products. Drive continuous improvement in design, cost, performance, and manufacturability. Manage and mentor the NPD team for technical and professional development. Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress and risks. Requirements: Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, or related field). Minimum 10 years of experience in product development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Proven track record in managing multiple NPD projects. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and design tools (CAD/CAM). Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. Familiarity with APQP, FMEA, DFMEA, PPAP, and stage-gate processes. Preferred Skills: Experience in automotive, industrial, or consumer product industries. Knowledge of ISO/TS standards and regulatory requirements. Strategic thinking with a focus on innovation and speed to market.
