Position SummaryWe are looking for a Resident Engineer with hands-on experience in Cisco Nexus switches and Cisco ACI (ApplicationCentric Infrastructure) to provide on-site support and expertise. The candidate will be responsible for managing,troubleshooting, and optimizing our Nexus and ACI environments, ensuring network performance and reliability for theorganization.Key Responsibilities:
- Deployment & Configuration:
- Configure, and maintain Cisco Nexus switches and Cisco ACI fabric for data center and enterprise
environments.
- Work on the deployment of new network infrastructure, ensuring proper integration with existing systems
and business requirements.
- Configure and implement network features such as VXLAN, Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation (MLAG),
FabricPath, and others within Nexus/ACI.
- Network Management & Optimization:
- Monitor and manage Cisco Nexus/ACI environments, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and
reliability.
- Perform tuning and capacity planning to enhance network performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot network issues and provide quick resolutions, particularly related to Nexus/ACI hardware,
software, and configuration.
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:
- Provide expert-level support for any network issues involving Nexus/ACI components.
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions for network incidents related to Cisco Nexus
switches and ACI environments.
- Collaborate with the network and system engineering teams to identify and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
- Network Security & Compliance: o Ensure that the Cisco Nexus and ACI infrastructure complies with security policies and industry standards. o Implement security best practices in ACI for access control, traffic segmentation, and other network security features.
- Documentation & Reporting: o Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all network configurations, diagrams, and operational procedures. o Provide regular status reports on system health, performance, and ongoing projects. o Stay up-to-date with new features and capabilities of Nexus/ACI, providing input for possible upgrades or enhancements.
Qualifications, Certifications, And Education Requirements
- Minimum of 3 of hands-on experience in the field of networking and managing inscope solutions
- Should have experience in management of any Large Data Center (of similar size) network for atleast 1
year.
- Strong knowledge of data center technologies, including SDN (Software-Defined Networking), VXLAN,
FCoE (Fibre Channel over Ethernet), and FabricPath.
Expertise in the Cisco Nexus family of switches (Nexus 7000, 5000, 9000 series).
Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI, including APIC (Application Policy Infrastructure Controller) andACI fabrics.Strong troubleshooting skills using tools such as Wireshark, Cisco Prime, and CLI.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Any Cisco certifications such as CCNP Data Center, CCIE Data Center, or Cisco Certified ACI
Specialist.
- Knowledge of industry standards and protocols, such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and MPLS, is a
plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Working Conditions:
- Occasional after-hours work may be necessary to handle urgent issues or system maintenance.
- Travel to remote locations may be required depending on the business needs.
Qualifications, Certifications, And Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent
experience).
- The resource must also have a professional level certification for Networking and Switching
