Job Profile:

The National Sales Manager will oversee sales operations across key regions in India, leading a team to achieve business objectives, drive industry growth, and strengthen customer relationships, while reporting directly to the Country Head. Key responsibilities include:

  • Independently develop and execute strategies to achieve business objectives in all aspects of sales and support for products and services, including aftermarket sales.
  • Oversee pan-India sales operations and international markets, including Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
  • Achieve planned sales budgets for new machines and spare sales within budgeted costs.
  • Regularly visit key customers to strengthen business relationships.
  • Oversee on-site trials, ensuring effective sales outcomes and detailed reporting.
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to align sales and marketing strategies, including campaigns, trade shows, and meetings.
  • Oversee back-office operations, including quotation preparation and order processing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales activities while actively contributing to sales and strategy meetings.
  • To lead and manage a team of 15 sales members, including 6-7 direct reports.
  • Collaborate closely with the Country Head to align sales strategies with organisational goals, while providing key market insights to enhance market penetration.
  • Coordinate with the accounting department for customer invoicing & reconciliation.
  • Interact with prospects, customers, consultants, and other key stakeholders, delivering presentations and promoting products.

Education Requirements:

A Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, with a preference for candidates holding an MBA.

Experience Requirements:

Possessing 15 to 20 years of experience in sales leadership within the capital and industrial equipment sector, with a deep understanding of sales operations in key industries such as food, paint, and pharmaceuticals. Proven expertise in managing and leading sales teams, as well as appointing and supporting agents and distributors. Highly proficient in utilizing CRM and ERP (like SAP) platforms to streamline sales processes and enhance overall efficiency.

    Strong ability to deliver impactful presentations and close negotiations effectively.
  • Customer relationship management:

    Adept at maintaining long-term relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
