Job Title: National Sales Manager – B2B (Steel Sales)

Location: Kolkata

Department: Sales & Marketing

Salary: Up to ₹12 LPA

Role Summary

The National Sales Manager will be responsible for driving the end-to-end sales, marketing, and business development of steel wire and wire rod products across India and in select export markets. The role is critical in achieving business growth, market penetration, and customer retention, while ensuring seamless coordination with manufacturing and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Planning & Execution

  • Develop and execute annual and periodic sales plans for steel wires and wire rods.

  • Align sales strategies with business goals and adapt plans based on operational feedback.

  • Monitor sales targets and track actual performance vs. planned KPIs.

Demand Generation & Fulfilment

  • Identify B2B sales opportunities, prepare competitive offers, and ensure timely order closures.

  • Manage the sales order lifecycle: quote generation, approval coordination, sales order receipt, dispatch follow-up, and fulfilment monitoring.

  • Resolve any bottlenecks in sales execution.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Foster and strengthen client relationships through regular engagement and support.

  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Business Growth & Market Expansion

  • Conduct market research to identify new customer needs and emerging opportunities.

  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to introduce new products tailored to market demands.

Team Management

  • Train, mentor, and upskill the sales team to achieve performance targets.

  • Guide team members in resolving client issues and managing escalations.

Market Intelligence

  • Track industry trends, competitor activities, pricing strategies, and customer behavior.

  • Provide insights for pricing decisions and strategic planning.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Monthly Sales Target: 6000 MT

  • Sales Realization & Outstanding Recovery

  • Order Conversion Rate & Dispatch Timeliness

  • Number of Customer Interactions

  • Market Share Growth & Opportunity Identification

Candidate Profile

Education

  • Preferred: MBA in Sales & Marketing

Experience

  • 15+ years in industrial product sales, including a minimum of 5 years in steel/B2B sales leadership roles.

Skills

  • Strong expertise in steel/steel derivative product sales (domestic & export)

  • Proficient in ERP systems (SAP preferred), MS Excel, PowerPoint, and email communication

  • Excellent leadership, communication, time management, and customer relationship skills

  • Ability to align cross-functional teams (sales, production, logistics)
